Meetings and Elections
Posted December 18th, 2005 by HowarkThere is one word for this Coops annual meetings- A Joke.
1- The notice of the meeting does not tell you which incumbents are running.
2- The annual report is circulated 3 days before the meeting so you don't have time to study it and ask detailed questions.
3- The structure of the meeting is such that you vote before you can ask candidates how they feel about issues.
4- There is no 'meet the candidate night so you are voting blindly.
5- It seems that Mr. Greher circulated the 'do not vote for Rich Price and C. Spitzer' because they do not agree with his desire to sell parking spots.
6- Mr. Greher's daughter sold 3 apartments to a B. Singer-a long time slum-lord and friend and synagogue partner.
Shareholder meeting a mixed bag
Posted December 6th, 2005 by Gregory HellerLast night's Shareholder meeting was a mixed bag. There was some news cooperators found troubling about declining revenues, some contentious exchanges during the Question and Answer session and the evening concluded without certified election results! We should know soon who the winning Board candidates are.
Sustainable Neighborhood Design
Posted December 5th, 2005 by Gregory HellerWorld Changing has an interesting post about LEED-ND and ZEDStandards for sustainable neighborhood design. LEED-ND aparently deals more with original construction, while the ZEDStandard covers what you do in your neighborhood. The criteria that ZEDStandards encompasses could broadly be described as "services," such as local food access, education, car clubs, and on-site composting. These are two issues I have already starting talking about here.
CorlearsHook.net is Live!
Posted December 5th, 2005 by Gregory HellerI moved the site live this morning in advance of tonight's share holder meeting. It is still very much "beta" but I think that it is a good start, and can really help to continue some of the discussions that I am sure will start this evening.
